The term ‘Compression’ seem to be used more and more often these days especially in the digital world. Mostly relate to file size, your photos, your video, files can be compress to send out through email, time can be compress because your boss want you to finish the same amount of work within a shorter time frame. But what I am referring to is the compression of distance made by any telephoto lens. Lining up the hi-rise buildings in right above the residential area with all these houses that are located 10 km away from downtown. Guess where I was to shoot this photo?
The rainy weataher is back as most people actually prefer the rain over the cold freezing tempature. But I’m already a little missed those quiet peaceful walk on one of these cold freezing weather. What do you prefer?
Whytecliff Park at night with milky way above going into the Pacific Ocean. Love the curvy shoreline extend all the way to that little island in the middle. And if you look for it on google map, it’s called the ‘Whyte Islet Park’! And interestingly that is part of Bowen Island and not West Vancouver. Well…. sorry it gets superlocal with all these geo locations.

It was about 2 months ago on this lovely evening exploring Garry Point Park down at the southwest corner of Richmond, BC. And I went back to the park a few times on different days and nights over the last 2 months. One of the reason is because of these tree truck along the beach provide endless opportunities for photography. But all these junk from the ocean are all cleaned up when I last visited the park. Hope you enjoy it!
Have you been on the False Creek Ferries before? This is one of the dock underneath the Cambie Bridge on the south side of the bridge. One of those beautiful cloudy afternoon Vancouver usually have in between the rain! Where all the best moments are!! Have a great day!

A night exploring Garry Point Park on a freezing cold night. It’s been raining for few days and my buddy call for a night shoot right when the rain stop…. well… kind of stopped. We head down to the park and it was a great dramatic overcast sky without moon. It was dark by stay away from the street lights. But also have them lit up the wood nicely from a distance. I found this nicely positioned tree rrot by the beach when I explored the park before during the day knowing where to find it. Otherwise it would be a difficult task just to find it in the dark. Hope you enjoy and have a great night!
