Taken from 3 different locations from the same trip travel to Alberta back in August. From a gentle stream to a violence river that flowing down to a waterfall. They are fun and some times challenging to photography. How do you like them?
Stay and Wait
A beautiful sunset by the lake near Merritt, BC.
First Location
A panorama combined with 8 portrait oriented images. A popular viewpoint along the Icefields Parkway near Jasper, Alberta. This might not be the best view to take photo of these mountain range. But it is a very memorable location to me because I took my very first nightscapes photo in the Canadian Rockies and also my very first solo trip to the Rockies. Before that, was my first time visiting the Rockies on a bus tour with family about 20 years ago…
Hope you enjoy this new panorama from this good old spot!
The Next Day
Continuous from yesterday post Twilight vs. Midnight. The sunset on the next day was very pretty, color filled up the entire sky and lasted for quite a long time as I was able to ran around and catch a few shots!
A Blend of Seasons
Just got back from a trip to have a first taste of the Winter. I’ve heard about the first blanket of snow in the Canadian Rockies happen in October of each year. and that would be the best time to visit and photography the Canadian Rockies in white. So it was my very first time solo trip car camping in the cold. I didn’t expect it was that cold. Luckily I bought enough clothes and camping gear to kept myself warm.
But before I share some of the photo from the Canadian Rockies, I would like to share some of them on my way back to Vancouver as weather shifting from Winter back into Falls. And as title of the post said, A Blend of Seasons!

Supreme Clarity
A cloudy day at Lake O’hara, Yoho National Park
Pink Pano
It was the last night of a 2 weeks road trip chasing some dark night last month. And I was waiting the night to come having my camera setup at the right spot for the milky way to show. As the night comes, the sky was turning from twilight blue into a darker purple tone. So I turn around and take a quick shot opposite to the milky way, then noticed there was an amazing light show happening right behind me. The next thing I did is took 8 vertical shots for this panorama shot.
Hope you enjoy it and have a great night!
Sunset Bridge
A great sunset from a recent trip to Jasper. Family trip is hard to skip out at the right time for some good lights! 😉
