Twilight to Midnight

From the same night and location taken back in August. One of the night chasing NEOWISE Comet. It was a overcast night with lots of clouds moving quite fast. The NEOWISE Comet appeared on and off over the first half of the night and as the comet went below the mountain. A little change in direction to capture a time lapse of the night hoping the milky way will be showing at some point with all the clouds covered half the sky. So from all the frames I captured on this evening, I picked the one with the least amount of clouds in the sky showing half of the milky way. Hope you enjoy and have a great night!

Nautical Twilight Galaxy

A dark night in the valley of the Cayoosh Creek. Was still waiting for the galactic center to rise above the treeline and as the sky is still in dark blue. This valley is extremely dark as there are almost no light pollution. And the darker it gets, the more stars we can photography!! So many stars that they look like a lots of noise…..!

Camping Fun

Few night shots from a night camping out in the dark! Do you like camping? If so, What is the most fun part of camping to you? To me, these are the moments I love best!! 😀

Star Painting

Milky way above treeline with a bright star shine on the lake surface as wind blowing strong this evening. The waves on the lake moving quickly causing the wiggly lines with the long exposure! Not a usual capture on the lake surface…!
Have a great evening!

Chasing the Sky

Whenever I travel to chase the dark sky, always try to capture some different image on the same night. But it is tricky and not easy to travel to multiple locations on the same night as it’s often not a very long period of time to shoot the center of the milky way. Also it will be very hard to find and frame your shot under the dark sky. So some preparation will always helps!

Are you interested in chasing the night sky and take photo of the night sky like these? If so, I will be holding 2 workshops next August in Banff / Jasper National Park on Landscape / Waterscapes and Nightscapes Photography!

First Location

A panorama combined with 8 portrait oriented images. A popular viewpoint along the Icefields Parkway near Jasper, Alberta. This might not be the best view to take photo of these mountain range. But it is a very memorable location to me because I took my very first nightscapes photo in the Canadian Rockies and also my very first solo trip to the Rockies. Before that, was my first time visiting the Rockies on a bus tour with family about 20 years ago…

Hope you enjoy this new panorama from this good old spot!

Curve of the Night

The famous train track view in the Canadian Rockies on a cloudy night with a little visibility of the starry night sky!! One of the frame from a time lapse video captured on the same night!!

Prints available. Hope you enjoy!!

Emerald Lake Lodge

My first night arrived at Emerald Lake from a recent trip with a little bit of fog start rolling in. Multiple exposure shots were used to blend into not this to keep the lights down! Have a great day!!

Day And Night

Another time lapse video captured during a trip back in 2014 in Oregon and Washington State, but footage have never been used in any of my video before. I guess that’s count as new? 🙂
