Just got back from a trip to have a first taste of the Winter. I’ve heard about the first blanket of snow in the Canadian Rockies happen in October of each year. and that would be the best time to visit and photography the Canadian Rockies in white. So it was my very first time solo trip car camping in the cold. I didn’t expect it was that cold. Luckily I bought enough clothes and camping gear to kept myself warm.
But before I share some of the photo from the Canadian Rockies, I would like to share some of them on my way back to Vancouver as weather shifting from Winter back into Falls. And as title of the post said, A Blend of Seasons!

Queen Elizabeth Park
Queen Elizabeth Park – the dome of Bloedel Conservatory
Queen Elizabeth Park is a 130-acre municipal park located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Little Mountain (British Columbia) (elevation approximately 152 meters or 500 feet above sea level). Its surface was scarred at the turn of the twentieth century when it was quarried for its rock, which served to build Vancouver’s first roadways.
And here’s is a higher view from above. Hope you enjoy!
Stay safe, everyone!!
US Southwest
US Southwest, is a region of the western United States. the name that represent four of the states on the west side of United State including Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. And some even includes Southern California, parts of Colorado and western Texas as well. But the definitions of the region have never been standardized.
Everything you see in this video was captured in a singe road trip a few years ago. I drove 12000 km round trip from Vancouver, Canada all by myself for 4 weeks. But I only got to Monument Valley in Arizona at the most. And only scratch the surface of the area. So there are a lot of more spectacular locations that I don’t know about at the time… Guess it will never be enough research before and never enough time to explore this magnificence area that shown us “TIME”. To realized how small we really are as a human being.
I was planning to have another road trip this April down to Utah again. Of course it is now cancelled because of the outbreak happening right now… Well… I am trying to keep doing some post-production with all the footage I shot over the years to stay positive. Lucky I still got a lot of hard drive to go through! Hope to keep the posting going!! 😉
Night Vision
Trying to stay home during this difficult time, I tried to put all my energy to focus on finishing off a lot of photo and video that I shot over the years and not to think too much about the situation. Following the news are important, but it is almost very depressing watching days and months of this craziness happening right in front of our face. What do you do to stay positive these days? And here’s is an image from back in 2017.
Canyon And Valley
A mix of Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah and Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Another time lapse from the US Southwest!
The Rockies Night
New time lapse video of the night skies in Canadian Rockies. This was captured over many trips in the past 4 years!! Do you want to capture some dark night photography like what you see in this video? I am running my 2nd year of night photography workshop in the Canadian Rockies with a Non-Profit organization Real Ideas Studio. Check out the link below: http://realideasstudio.org/2020-night-photography-workshop…/
Rain and Cloud
A new time lapse video of the….. Once again, Canadian Rockies! 😀 And this time with this subject that isn’t the most common when capturing time lapse. And I am using a different genre instead of my usual downtempo music. Just a different take and give it a shot. Leave me a commend and let me know what you think!!
Coverage Area
Taken back in December 2018 at Bow Lake. Love the complete whiteness!!
Frozen In Time
Been busy doing video and putting all the photos aside for a very long time… Here is one from a cold afternoon at a half frozen river.
